Our Approach to Marble: How We Select Every Slab

By Yvonne Haveland Evensen
Founder & Creative Director, MarbleMade Studio

At MarbleMade Studio, marble is never treated as a standard material. Every slab we use is selected individually, with intention, experience, and a deep respect for the natural stone itself.

Marble is a living material. No two slabs are identical, and that is precisely what makes it special. Veining, movement, tone, and depth all play a role in how a finished piece will look and feel in a space.

When sourcing marble, we focus on three core factors: quality, character, and longevity. We work closely with trusted suppliers and quarries to ensure that the stone meets our standards not only visually, but structurally. Each slab is assessed for balance, durability, and suitability for the specific design it will become.

This careful selection process allows us to create pieces that feel timeless rather than trend-driven. Whether the result is a coffee table, dining table, or custom project, the goal is always the same: to let the stone speak for itself.

Marble is not meant to be rushed. It is meant to be chosen with care—and that philosophy guides everything we do.
