Why Murano Lighting Requires True Craftsmanship

By Yvonne Haveland Evensen

Lighting has the power to transform a space, and glass lighting in particular requires a level of craftsmanship that cannot be compromised.

Murano glass lighting is defined by movement, transparency, and depth. Achieving this requires experienced artisans, controlled production methods, and an understanding of how light interacts with glass.

At MarbleMade Studio, we focus on quality over quantity. Each glass element is evaluated for consistency, clarity, and finish. Small variations are part of the charm of handcrafted glass, but structural integrity and balance are non-negotiable.

We believe lighting should feel sculptural even when turned off—and atmospheric when illuminated. That balance is only possible when craftsmanship is respected at every stage of production.

This is why we approach lighting with the same care as marble: as a design element that deserves attention, patience, and expertise.
